Killeen Community Council Update
The Killeen Community Centre has remained closed since October 2020 due to Covid restrictions. However, since then, classes in Yoga, Keep Fit and Yoga & Mindfulness for Children have been held via Zoom, thanks to funding made available from the Mayo, Sligo, Leitrim Education & Training Board (MSLETB) & Healthy Ireland. They have proven hugely popular in the community and were free of charge to participants. It's a great way to help boost physical and mental health and well-being at such a difficult time. It has helped keep people connected and are extremely convenient to access.
The children's classes were run after Christmas while the schools were closed due to restrictions. It was a lovely daily activity for the children attending Killeen National School to avail of.
Many thanks to the wonderful instructors who quickly organised the online training and again to the MSLETB, Healthy Ireland and Mayo County Council for their support.
More Keep Fit and Yoga Classes have resumed with some limited spaces available. If interested contact Eileen on (087) 6826025.
