After 10am mass in the Holy Family church, Killeen, there was an open invitation to all to come for a cuppa, food, chat, craic. A local man, John Kitterick treated us to some sean-nós dancing and sang a local song about ‘Louisburgh in the County Mayo'. Another local lady, Aileen McDonnell read a beautiful poem called ‘The Chase’ , all about life and what is important. Another local lady and budding poet, Jackie Hedley (nee Taylor) wrote a poem all about Mayo Day especially for our event. |
