Leaving Killeen Community Centre, turn right past the Church to Killeen Crossroads, turn left and follow this road which veers left. Take the first road to the left and continue past the Primary School. Turn right at the end of the road and take the next left (after approx. 50m.) Continue along this road until you reach the Clapper Bridge. It is possible to walk over this bridge. Turn right at the crossroads to Cross Beach. Go left along the beach for about a mile and pass Cross lake on the left. There are remains of a crannóg on this lake. Climb up the bank of stones and turn left onto the road which goes uphill to the Ocean lodge Hotel. Pass the hotel and take the first turn left down a narrow road which leads uphill again to the main road. Go left and stay on the main road until you arrive back at Killeen Community Centre. Killeen Cemetery has an interesting standing stone inscribed with a cross.
