Purple Route (3.5 miles / 5.6 km)
Turn right after leaving Killeen Community Centre, turn right at crossroads and continue straight at next crossroads until you come to Cross Beach. Turn left along the heath or the beach, keeping an eye out for Cross lake with its remains of a crannóg. Continue along Cross beach until you come to Killadoon beach where , about half way along the beach, your take the tarred road and walk up the steep hill, passing the Ocean Lodge Hotel. Turn left at the end of this road and follow the main road back to the Community Centre.
If you wish to take a longer route, continue along Killadoon beach to the end of Bunlough strand and take the next road to the left. Turn left at the T junction to go back to Killeen.
